What We Want Governments To Do
If more communities know about prevention methods and information about fruit bat habitats and the environment, more people are able to come together in communities, and push for policies to be put in place by the government. The more people in these countries who are aware of this disease and other diseases, the more pressure is put on the governments of these countries to give funding or enact policies.
Example Policies
- Restrict wildlife trading
-more funding towards research when there is a deadly virus going aroundÂ
- Information about the virus taughtÂ
- Train local officials and hospitals in high risk areas to deal with situations like Nipah outbreaks, so people can be better prepared
- Monitor the health of bat and pig populations
-use protective gear to get rid of infected animal feces (gloves, cloth)
